Breaking the Algorithm IRL: Adriana Tampasis

Turn out on Thursday, September 25th at 7pm Upstairs at the Avalon Lounge for the next edition of “Breaking the Algorithm IRL,” a new monthly series presented by Wave Farm’s WGXC 90.7-FM as part of our Local Waves initiative and the show “Local Waves in Conversation.” This month’s event features a discussion with Adriana Tampasis, a Hudson Valley-based composer, performer, and poet. She has composed for solo, chamber, and large ensemble groups, integrating traditional and nontraditional notations including narrative and graphic scores into her compositions. Her work is inspired by the fusion of jazz, chamber, and literary arts, employing both improvisation and through-composition. She has recently held a residency at Westben Centre for Connection & Creativity as a Performer-Composer and is currently recording an album with her jazz-fusion quartet, Pocket Merchant.
