Tending

Caitlin Rose Sweet with Andre Avezedo Sweet presents Tending, an evening of experimental video projection and ceramic art. Tending explores the intimacy between  rural queers in the Hudson Valley to the land they steward. Caitlin Rose visited with the land tenders to witness their unique relationship to the environment and crafted ceramic vessels inspired by the land visit. Later Sweet captured video of the participants interacting with the vessel while performing land tasks and plant based rituals. 

In collaboration with Andre Avezedo Sweet, these videos are collaged together and projected onto Shadow Walls to create an outdoor installation celebrating how rural queers form community and a sense of belonging with nature.

Tending is a site specific installation at Shadow Walls Sept 27 6-9pm. Video screening begins at sunset. Rain date Oct 4 6-9pm.
