WILD ABANDON: Photo Safari, Masterclass Workshop and Halloween Party at an Abandoned Zoo

Wild Abandon is 2-day event offering a variety of unique experiences and educational opportunities for anyone who is creatively inclined and interested in gaining exclusive access to the abandoned Catskill Game Farm, formerly the largest private zoo in America.  Whether you’re a professional photographer, urban explorer, cosplay model, or just interested in strolling the grounds – typically closed to the public – we have a space for you. Parts of the agenda are geared towards experienced artists, while others are open to anyone and everyone who’s interested in appreciating the beauty of the zoo’s modern ruins. Tuesday, October 22 (9am – 11pm)

Full-day workshop for intermediate to advanced photographers looking to advance their skills under the guidance of three, internationally acclaimed fine art photographers, Angela Strassheim, Corinne Botz, and Pete Mauney. Includes an introduction to using mindfulness in your art, private access to the abandoned zoo grounds, plus three masterclass sessions covering narrative lighting, visual storytelling, night photography, and more.

 

Wednesday, October 23 (10am – 10pm)

Experiences for shutterbugs and curious minds of all kinds and skill levels!

10am – 5pm: Passes available for 3hr time slots or full-day access to the Catskill Game Farm grounds, typically closed to the public. Come explore the ruins of what was once America’s largest private zoo. More than 100 buildings and 3.5 miles of trails are available for you to create the visual masterpiece of your dreams!  All are welcome, whether you’re a shutterbug, urban explorer, history buff, cosplayer, content creator, or just looking to relive the nostalgia of the Game Farm’s glory days. Must be 18+ to enter. No photography experience needed.

6:30pm – 10pm: Nocturnal Creatures – A Festive Halloween Gathering for Creatives
