Fine Art & Crafts Exhibition and Sale – Featuring original work by GCCA Artist Members
The Greene County Council on the Arts is pleased to present its much anticipated annual Winter Salon and Handmade Holidays exhibition, Salon 2018, featuring original artwork from our Artist Members! Salon 2018 & Handmade Holidays: Affordable Fine Art & Crafts Exhibition and Sale runs from November 17, 2018 through January 12, 2019. The public is invited to celebrate the season and meet the artists at the opening reception on Saturday, November 17 from 3:00 – 5:00pm at the GCCA Catskill Gallery located at 398 Main Street in Catskill, NY.
GCCA’s Catskill Gallery showcases original artworks, mounted salon style from floor to ceiling, with most work priced $300 or under. Salon 2018 offers a wide variety of artworks: original drawings, paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures. No works are larger than 24 x 24 inches. For some artists this may be a challenge to work in a smaller format, but our viewers and collectors response to the smaller works are immense. One of a kind hand built crafts, from pottery to designer sunglasses, are featured in the upstairs Artful Hand Gallery boutique laden with locally made crafts: ceramics, wearable art, jewelry, toys and holiday cards made by GCCA member artists as well as books, CDs and films by area authors and musicians.
Timing is everything, not only can you purchase your holiday gifts AND support local artists while you shop! These one of a kind gifts will be treasured for years to come. This is also a great way to add to your own private collection. Shop early! These treasures disappear from the gallery walls and shelves as they are purchased. GCCA encourages you to visit Salon 2018 often because we call the artists who then promptly replace their sold items with new works.
GCCA’s Catskill Gallery is located at 398 Main Street in Catskill, NY. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10AM to 5PM and Saturdays from noon to 5PM.
