Lois Walsh is a painter working in Gallatin, NY. Her work is based on specific 17th- and 18th-century French paintings, and her process-oriented approach is influenced by Impressionism and 20th-century expressionism. With a BA in Fine Art from Rutgers University (Douglass College) and an MFA in painting from SUNY New Paltz, she has taught art history at Marist University and Dutchess Community College, while actively pursuing a studio practice.
Walsh exhibits her work regularly and has recently been in solo and group shows in Poughkeepsie, Catskill, Acra, Hudson, Pawling, Kinderhook, Carmel, and
Woodstock.
