Laura Coe Laura Coe This project expands on prior research into the artistic performance potential of the The Magical Musical Mat, an interactive musical instrument activated by physical contact. The project engaged with local farms and venue PS21’s PATHWAYS series for a collection of site-specific workshops and performances. Highlighting the implications of the instrument for non-traditional methods of collaboration and environmental awareness, this project connects two principal but often separated sectors of Columbia County: agricultural and arts, starting with the common ground as a model for interaction and a medium for collaboration.
