CREATE Council on the arts is excited to announce our 2026 iteration of Seen Scenes will be held at the historic Kinderhook Knitting Mill (8 Hudson Street, Kinderhook, NY). Seen Scenes—the theme of this show—is open to your interpretation. Literal or metaphorical scenes, we are interested in seeing what this prompt inspires for you!
Please note, due to limited space, this show will be curated so all submissions will be reviewed and notifications of selected pieces will be sent by May 27.

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMS
CREATE will host a series of public programs throughout the run of the show, designed to expand engagement, foster community, and highlight artistic practices.
OPENING RECEPTION

We invite members, their family and friends, and the community at large to join in an evening with light refreshments to thank our hosts and participating artists.
CO-WORKING WITH GARDEN CLUB HUDSON VALLEY
Thursday, June 11, 9am–12pm
Bring your laptop, sketchbook or paperwork and co-work with us! There will be space to chat and also a quiet room. Coffee will be provided. In partnership with Garden Club Hudson Valley.

OFF THE PAGE
Sunday, June 14, 2–3:30pm
Off The Page invites CREATE members working in literary media to share their work through live readings and spoken performance, expanding the exhibition beyond the gallery walls. Participating artists are encouraged to reflect on the exhibition theme as a starting point for poetry, prose, spoken word, and other short literary presentations shared with a live audience.

Saturday, June 27, 12–3pm (During Upstate Art Weekend!)
CREATE is excited to invite artists to apply to table during Demo Day—an interactive day of live artist demonstrations taking place on Sat, July 27 at the Kinderhook Knitting Mill as part of Upstate Art Weekend!
