LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
When hapless Skid Row floral assistant Seymour Krelborn discovers a strange, exotic plant and nurses it back to health, he little suspects what dark forces he’s unwittingly unleashed. This summer’s annual all-student musical production at Catskill’s Bridge Street Theatre is Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s delightfully twisted, darkly comic horror/rock musical “Little Shop of Horrors”. Loosely based on Roger Corman’s 1960 cult film classic, this “mean green mother from outer space” puts down roots at BST’s 84-seat “Priscilla” Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street, for a two-weekend run from July 11-21, 2024. Featured in the all-student cast are Sarah Dobos (Chiffon), Jack Van Gorden (Orin), Michael Keck (Mr. Mushnik), Louise Kieraldo (Crystal), Jacob Leigh (Seymour), Madison Mudge (Audrey), Victoria Reese (Ronette), and Paul Truncale (Audrey II). Michelle Storrs-Ryan directs, with choreography by Marcus McGregor, set and lighting design by Carmen Borgia, and costumes by Cassie Berry-Smith. Production Stage Manager is Hannarose Manning. “Little Shop of Horrors” will be performed eight times only, July 11-21, with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm.
