PEST feat Bookworms / Cookie / Swim Ice / Larry Termite

Sat. Sept 2, 9pm-1am

The Avalon Lounge
29 Church St.
Catskill, NY

Pest is back at the Avalon Lounge in Catskill, NY with our Fall season opener on September 2nd, 2023.  We gladly welcome Bookworms, for a live set, and Cookie, DJing, from New York City into the booth ensuring a special evening of inspired selections, innovative sounds, and crucial night-minded energy.  Residents Swim Ice & Larry Termite will hold it down on both sides of the night with their classic push-pull b2b sets.

Bookworms is a New York based producer and DJ who has been releasing music and performing for well over a decade.  Releasing on such acclaimed labels such as L.I.E.S., Bank Records, and Boomkat Editions, Bookworms is known for his idiosyncratic approach to productions and performing live – never the same, always exploring.  From so called “functional” dance floor records to abstract experimental cuts, his range is far and wide while keeping a thread of shared style.  His set will be the first live performance for Pestand we are beyond thrilled to see what transpires.

Cookie is a pillar of the underground NYC music scene: as one of the founding members of the Feral Shadow Dance Union, Cookie has helped throw the premier Crown Heights rave that always delivers the freak mode party vibe.  Beyond the FSDU, Cookie has performed and/or thrown parties across venues such as Happy Fun Hideaway, CC (RIP!), Bed Stuy lofts and gardens, and other DIY locations throughout the five boroughs.  With an all terrain approach to DJ, we will be extremely blessed to hear her unique approach to conjuring the dance spirit.

As always, Pest strives to throw fun, strange, sonically engaging, soul replenishing, and inclusive dance parties in the Hudson Valley.  Absolutely no discrimination of any kind will be tolerated.  Please talk to a DJ or bar staff member if you feel uncomfortable.
