Unplugged & Transcendent: How We Can All Find Peace and Enjoy Our Lives More
Tuesdays, July 16 & 23, 10am-1pm
This immersive session will begin with an overview of the literary and artistic movements of Romanticism and Transcendentalism. We will read notable passages from key works of both movements and discuss them, as well as how we may apply the principles of these literary movements to our own lives. Many of the principles associated with these movements closely align with the notions of mindfulness and the importance of connecting with nature. We will then head out to a local nature trail, where we will practice some of the strategies and techniques that we explored during the discussion part of the program. Each participant will receive a nature journal for their own personal use, and will begin their own nature journal entries through their own observations of nature. The session will culminate with creative writing and mindfulness exercises related to our discussions about Romanticism and Transcendentalism. Guided by Amanda Graham
