Kim Bach is an artist and painter who resides in Hudson, New York. She is the niece of famed Utah artist Lee Deffebach.

A recipient of a residency at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY. Kim studied at the California College of Arts & Crafts and received an MA from Long Island University, Brooklyn. Her early works were shown in Washington DC at Henri Gallery and at Christensen Heller Gallery in Oakland CA. For several years, Kim’s work was represented by Wendy McDaris gallery in Hudson, NY After running Verdigris Tea & Chocolate on Warren St. for 20 years, Kim has retired this year to work full time in her studio in Hudson, NY. Her other passions include gardening, reading and walking several pilgrimages throughout Spain and Portugal.

I paint abstracted landscapes and still life images on canvas and paper using oil bars and charcoal, with an occasional foray into acrylic paints.

I find painting is an energetic process that requires lots of space to move in and make a mess. Most of my work is very large but in my old age, I have tried to work smaller.

My inspiration comes from my backyard secret garden and my extensive traveling on pilgrimages in Spain and Portugal.
